With a vision to provide education of international standards and the mission to empower each section of society through education and produce socially committed professionals Rama University was established in the year 2014 as a State University at Kanpur vide U.P. Act No. 1 of 2014 as passed by the State Legislature and is empowered to give degrees as specified by UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 through its main campus with the approval of Statutory Councils, wherever required.

Ramafest:
It is a 4 day long Cultural & Sports annual festival of Rama University Kanpur. Rama University Kanpur boasts about the status of celebrating RAMAFEST as one of the U.P.’s biggest cultural & Sports festivals, annually entertaining a footfall of more than 10,000 students from the university providing them with a stellar national platform to showcase their talent. Over the years, Ramafest has hosted some of the most famous names from the film and music industry including Mika Singh, Jay Vijay Sachan & MJ5, etc. Our Campus Ambassador System plays an indispensable role in connecting Ramafest to all the students across the campus as well as playing an important role in deciding about artist line ups and different events of the festival to provide students with a better exposure about the industry.
