From a Campus Need to a
Neighborhood Food Network
Campus Haat was born from a simple truth: Good food changes how we feel,
how we work, and
how we live.
What started as a small student experiment at IIT Kanpur has today grown into one of the most trusted homemade food delivery platforms in Kanpur — connecting thousands of people to real home kitchens.
How It Started (2015–2017)
In 2015, while studying at IIT Kanpur, our founder saw a familiar problem: Students, research scholars, and young professionals were eating unhealthy, repetitive food every day.
- Hostel mess was tiring.
- Restaurant food was oily and expensive.
- Cooking daily was impossible with academic pressure.
At the same time, many homemakers around the campus had exceptional cooking skills but no way to reach customers. Campus Haat began as a marketplace, but one thing stood out clearly: Food was the strongest human connection.
When Homemade Food Became the Mission (2020)
When COVID struck, campuses closed and thousands were stuck away from home — craving Ghar ka khana. That’s when Campus Haat transformed into a home-chef powered food network.
We built an app that allowed real home kitchens — mostly women — to list their dishes. Within months, people across IIT Kanpur and nearby colonies began ordering daily meals from kitchens where someone cooked with care.
Growing with the Community
Dozens of homemakers now earn a stable income. Students eat healthier. Working professionals save time. This is not just delivery. This is a neighborhood food economy.

Campus Haat is built by a small founder-led team with over 10 years of experience. We have lived the problems: student life, financial stress, and health issues from poor food. We designed Campus Haat around real human needs, not just tech.
Campus Haat Labs – Beyond Food
Behind Campus Haat is a deep technology engine built for hyper-local logistics and demand prediction. We also help early-stage founders build MVPs through Campus Haat Labs, applying the same lean approach we used to grow our own platform.
Where We Are Going
Today, we serve IIT Kanpur and nearby areas. Tomorrow, we want to help thousands of neighborhoods eat better. We envision a future where food travels short distances, local families earn from their kitchens, and people feel healthier and more connected.
